Parent and Teacher Association (PTA)
CPS PTA
We have a vibrant PTA made up of parents, teachers, and friends of the school, who play an integral role in fundraising projects that benefit the school and the children. New parents, parents of existing children at school, whaanau, and extended family are welcome to come along to our monthly meetings, and we welcome your input.
The P.T.A. is supported by the Board of Trustees and Staff, and has raised funds for a number of school amenities; some of the past projects we have contributed to include the all-purpose turf in front of the hall, pergola for the Garden to Table outdoor area, sound system in the school hall, bike track, school pool, pool shade sail, interactive whiteboards, sports equipment and uniforms, books for the library, junior playground, hall curtains and carpet, and more iPads for the classrooms. With your help, initiatives, and support, we can continue to make our school a better place, and provide the very best for our children.
Meetings are held twice a term on Wednesday at 6.00 pm in the staff room and all are welcome.
We are always grateful for any help that you can offer. Helpers do not necessarily need to commit to attending meetings, or even to help with all fundraisers. If there is anything you would like to contribute, no matter how big or small, it would be really appreciated. If we are advertising a particular fundraiser that you think you'd like to lend a hand with just let us know!

Recipe Book
This year we’re embarking on an exciting project to raise funds for upgrading our school’s playground. We’re creating a beautifully designed and photographed recipe book, ‘Cook Plate Savour,’ filled with delicious recipes from the homes of Cambridge Primary students and staff members.

Gala
Our bi-annual School Gala is a much-loved community event, held from 10am to 2pm and open to everyone – not just CPS families! This years gala was held in March of 2025. It’s a fun-filled day created to bring our school and wider community together. Each classroom runs its own stall, with students, teachers and whānau working hard to create and sell everything from homemade treats to beautiful crafts – this year’s flower stall was a standout favourite!
There’s something for everyone, with exciting rides, delicious food, and crowd-pleasers like Dunk the Teacher and Tombola. The Board of Trustees hosts the ever-popular barbecue, and all funds raised go directly back into the school. This year, proceeds are helping to fund our exciting new playground.
The Gala is a true celebration of community spirit and teamwork – we love seeing everyone come together to support our kura which raised over $30K.
We are always looking for business sponsors to help with the cost of bringing these activities to the Gala if you know of any businesses who may wish to be involved then please let the PTA know.
Cookie Time Cookies
Every Christmas we partner with Cookie Time to raise funds for ongoing school activities.
Movie Nights
Our famous “movie night” sells out every term, a great night for the kids to relax and watch a movie while parents have some time to themselves.
