To provide our students with a safe and positive learning environment in which they can develop the skills that will enable them to maximise their potential and become responsible world citizens.
We accept international students based on the number of places available at the time of application with a maximum of four international students per class. Acceptance of placement is at the discretion of the School Principal / Board of Trustees.
We invite contact from agents who are registered with New Zealand's Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA) and/or Education New Zealand.

Cambridge Primary School aims to foster and celebrate the diversity of world cultures, and our mission statement acknowledges the importance of widening our pupils' understanding of cultural differences. As part of this philosophy, we welcome a limited number of international students to enhance the multicultural dimension of our school.
Cambridge Primary School offers a safe and supportive educational experience to all students with a focus on building relationships whilst delivering the national curriculum and specialist learning programmes. We warmly welcome international students to engage with our quality experiences and to contribute to our community of global thinkers.

CPS China Trip
Every two years, a group of senior students and accompanying adults from Cambridge Primary School embark on an unforgettable cultural adventure to China. This immersive experience introduces students to the language, history, education, and lifestyle of one of the world’s oldest and most vibrant cultures.
Highlights of the trip include:
School Visits: Students connect with local Chinese schools, attending classes and sharing cultural experiences with their peers.
Iconic Landmarks: From cycling around East Lake in Wuhan to climbing the Great Wall and exploring the Forbidden City in Beijing, students discover the rich heritage of China firsthand.
Cultural Immersion: A homestay weekend offers an authentic glimpse into family life in China, while evenings feature local cuisine, night markets, and cultural shows including Chinese opera.
Exciting Experiences: Past itineraries included a visit to Shanghai Disneyland, a night cruise on the Huangpu River, and time in the ancient water town of Xitang.
Fun & Friendship: With a mix of sightseeing, adventure, and group activities, students build lasting friendships and confidence through travel.
This trip is open to Year 5 and 6 students and requires strong personal responsibility, adaptability, and enthusiasm for learning about new cultures. It’s an incredible opportunity that many past CPS kids have called a highlight of their time at our school.
