General Information

I moved from Taiwan in 1997 with my husband. We have a daughter who is 15 years old now. I have lived in Hamilton since the beginning of 1998.

I was a secondary school teacher before coming to New Zealand.
I teach Chinese literature and social science in a secondary school, which equivalents to New Zealand school from year 8 to year 13.

Before teaching in the secondary school, I worked as a relieving teacher for various primary schools in my hometown.

Before I step into the Cambridge Primary School, I have worked for two government agencies since 2010, the Department of Corrections and the Earthquake Commission.

Meanwhile, I manage/teach Japanese Fencing (Kendo) in the Waikato Kendo Association from 1999. I have represented NZ in the 2006 World Kendo Championships.

My experiences from teaching in school and community club made me believe a happy learner could fully reach their potential and achieve higher than average.

My perception about learning language is not only about the specific language, it's about learning the skills of learning except exploring a different culture.

General Information

As a teacher of very long standing at Cambridge Primary, it is with great authority that I say: This is a fantastic school, staffed by a great team of dedicated professionals and led by an excellent principal. It is a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of this school community.

I have taught all levels from New Entrants to Year 6. I have a love of Literacy in particular, but find enjoyment in all of the wide variety of “projects” in which our children have the opportunity to be involved.

In my leisure time I enjoy reading, and travelling with my husband Stephen. I am also a Hockey fan, but it is many a long year since I actually “ran”! On a Friday after school during the winter sport season, I will be found at St Peter’s School Hockey Turf, overseeing the Cambridge area Mini Hockey.

My hobbies include hunting, relaxing with friends and family, traveling, and of course watching YouTube videos about; science, extreme feats and Bear Grylls “Gotta love him”.
