Rutherford Teachers
Teacher - Room 1 - Year 5/6
My name is Ian Harrison and I am a teacher in the senior syndicate. I have been teaching at CPS for 8 years and it has been a pleasure watching the school develop many wonderful learning programmes. We truly have a fantastic team of staff with a great supportive culture.
I have a busy home life and enjoy playing with my children Miki and Rory. Life is always on the go which is just the way I like it. I even make time to complete the odd jigsaw puzzle generally over the Christmas break. Rule of thumb: Always start with the edges.
Don't worry, jigsaws are not my main passion, football is. Go Chelsea!
Teacher - Room 3 - Year 4/5
Hi there, I am Sophie Dewstow-Wright and I have been teaching at Cambridge Primary since the beginning of 2016. I love teaching in the Rutherford Syndicate with the senior children of the school. I thrive on building strong relationships with the children I teach and the families of our school. CPS is a fantastic place for children to learn, explore and grow (especially with our pool, flying fox, Stanaway Reserve, scooter and cycle track!).
Previous to joining the teaching profession, I completed a Film Degree and spent a few years in the Film and Television industry. I also enjoy many outdoor activities and have worked in France and Canada for a couple of snow seasons.
Teacher - Room 4 - Year 5/6
My name is Liam Carroll. This is my second year at Cambridge Primary. I have been teaching in the Cambridge area for the past six years. Coming to Cambridge Primary offers an opportunity to teach a new year group. I am really looking forward to the year ahead. My belief is that the primary school years are as much about what you learn as who you become in the process.
Snr Teacher - Room 4 - Year 4/5
Hi my name is Carol-Lynn Hill. I have been at CPS since 2002.
I have taught in the junior area of the school for most of this time but in 2015 I started teaching and leading the Hillary Syndicate. Then this year I have moved to the Rutherford Syndicate where I teach collaboratively with Sophie D-W in a Year 4-6 class. I also lead the Rutherford Syndicate.
My passions outside of school are building and landscaping. I have designed and created some exciting projects over the years and my next project is to build a full outdoor kitchen in our outdoor entertainment area.
I am also a self-confessed gadget geek and love all things ICT! I am married to Nik (also a teacher) and am the proud mother of 2 beautiful girls, Campbelle (16) and Abby (13).
Teacher - Room 5 - Year 5/6
I am currently teaching a year 5/6 class in Rutherford Syndicate.
I have held management positions in the past but decided that I enjoy being in the classroom best.
I love being with the children, introducing them to new things and watching their excitement as they discover what a wonderful world we live in.
I enjoy all subjects but my passions would be art and maths.
Out of school I enjoy, travelling, fishing, painting and cake decorating.
Every year I take on a new project, eg. last year it was metal jewellery making and at present it's gully restoration.
Next year, who knows?
