Learn and Earn: Each year a Learn and Earn Challenge is held. This alternates between a spelling bee and a general knowledge quiz. Students receive their spelling words or questions and source sponsorship or donations for each correct answer. A test is then held at the school.
2018 will see students receive a spelling list tailored to their learning level. These lists will be sent home at the end of term 2 with a test to be held during term 3.
This is one of the main fundraisers this year and earns the school approximately $9,000.
We have some on-going fundraisers that we encourage you to support if you need any of the following:
Gala: Every second year a Gala is held this is a major fundraiser for the school raising approx $15,000. The next gala will be held in Term 1 of 2019. This is always a great community day and requires helpers to assist with the smooth running. In 2017 a highlight was the zorbs on the pool, these will return in 2019 along with many other great activities.
Friday afternoon ice blocks: Yummy $1 iceblocks are sold by the sandpits each Friday after school (during Term 1).
Entertainment Books: To order online please use this link https://www.entertainmentbook.co.nz/orderbooks/1547m06
Liquid Gold: This fabulous fertiliser is available from the school office for $4 per sachet.
Blu-Suds/Citrus Suds: High quality, biodegradable, commercial grade washing powder or liquid. You can buy 4kg/4L for $22.50, both of which will give you over 100 standard washes. You can buy either BluSuds powder or CitruSuds liquid detergent. Both work equally well in hot or cold washes and can be used in top or front-loading machines. Both products have been found not to cause irritation to those with sensitive skin. Both products have a money-back guarantee and the school receives $6.60 from each one sold. Please order and collect from the school office.
PAYMENTS: The PTA account is 12-3268-0032349-00. For all internet payments please use your child's name and class number as a reference, along with the name of the fundraiser (e.g J Smith Rm 20 Calendars).
