General Information

In 2003 Cambridge became our home. Our son started at Cambridge Primary in the last term of 2014. He loves the school, his classmates and the teachers but mainly because he gets to play rugby! I coached his ripper rugby team last year and I am doing so again this year.
My day job is as an Authorised Financial Adviser, running my own small business (SMART Advice) based here in Cambridge. The business specialises in ACC, private risk insurances and KiwiSaver advice. My career includes holding various positions in banking as well as in New Zealand’s largest Life Insurance company and as a result would bring to the table worthwhile experience from a financial perspective.
Prior to this, I project managed a regional marketing initiative for the Waikato Chamber of Commerce in association with all Local councils throughout the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. Strategy and Leadership would be the key attributes that were vital for that role.
My passion is business. Helping businesses thrive, adding value and facilitating connections has driven me to initiate a regular lunch for businesses in Cambridge. By means of a business relationship with the Economic development arm of the Waipa District Council, as a member of the Executive board for the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce, I have the opportunity to drive and assist the Chamber’s influence and involvement in the direction and future of our great Cambridge.
My profession provides access to businesses and families, offering further opportunity to promote the vision and values of the school while at the same time gaining an insight from the community on how we could potentially do things better or differently.
