We need all
school reading books returned!(not books from the School Library
though).
If you have any reading books belonging to
Cambridge Primary School, we desperately need them returned. The
average cost to replace these is $10 a book! (That's on average $230
a day, per class, in books leaving the school grounds)! Teachers
are struggling to find enough titles in a set to do a formal Guided
Reading lesson with your child.
Children improve their reading when they do
additional reading at home from the books their teacher gives them.
Sadly, teachers will not be able to continue giving out reading books to
your child if they have not returned the book
previously given to them.
Last year we spent over $3000 on
new reading books for the junior children in the school. Many of these
new titles have not been returned. It is a huge financial loss. So if
you want your child to continue to bring home reading books specifically
selected for your child, then they MUST return their
book from the previous day. Teachers have been asked to be very strict
with this policy of monitoring new books.
All school books have to go home and return in a book bag - No
exceptions! Thanks for looking around your home!
