Our school is located in the centre of historic Cambridge - New Zealand's wonderful Town of Trees. The impressive school building itself dates back to 1869 and is listed in Category 1 with New Zealand Historic Places Trust. Facilities include a large hall, library, comfortable classrooms and an adventure playground surrounded by expansive playing fields and beautiful ancient trees. We also enjoy being close to the public library and town swimming pool. Our central locality is unique and we enjoy participating in many local events. All our staff are proud to continue the legacy of fine primary education in Cambridge's beautiful and historic school.
School Curriculum
Our focus is on student learning and our achievement levels exceed the national standards. We cover all aspects of the curriculum with an emphasis on problem solving, creativity and communication.
Double Trees Childrens Club
This programme is run by an independent business. It supports the family circumstances of our working parents. The programme operates from the school site between the hours of 7.30am - 8.30am and 3.00pm 5.15pm. More information is available from the school office.
International Students
Cambridge Primary School is an approved school to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. This means the Board can accept and enrol International Students. More information is available from the school - please contact us.
Community Involvement
We welcome opportunities to share with others. The choir performs annually at the local Christmas Festival, visits to local rest homes and we are often invited to attend community group functions. This is an important role for us and we enjoy this community partnership.
You can learn more about the history of our school building at the Cambridge Museum website.
